Documentation Metrics Status Update

I have not dropped from the face of the Earth. This is one of those
periods where work and family are taking lots of time.

I am working with some scripts, and some raw data sent by Ferg, to see
how much of the work I can get done that way. Not only does that save
time now, but allows me to keep my database updated without lots of
manual work. Given the number of volunteers available, automation is a
must.

Unfortunately, I am slowed down by the need to learn a new programming
language. I do SQL database programming (on Oracle), some VB (ugh!) and
asp when my boss sees me first (double-ugh!). None of these help me with
this project. So, I'm learning Python in order to get this done. It
could take a few weeks to get where I need to be.

If you have already volunteered to help with the project, please email
me privately again with your areas of knowledge. You should review
documents whose subject matter you are familiar with. You probably don't
need to be an absolute expert, but you should be knowledgeable. Expert
is, of course, even better. I suggest you select a few topic areas from
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/HOWTO-INDEX/categories.html and send them
to me.
